Workplace hearing tests and employee ear checks

Workplace hearing tests are a brilliant way to support your employees hearing health. It’s a way to build inclusivity into your workplace as well as raising awareness on the importance of our hearing.

At workplace Ear Care we focus on the importance of hearing health in quieter workplaces, those that aren’t exposed to loud noises. We want hearing tests for employees to be a norm so we can ensure all employees are communicating well and have good mental health.

Our workplace hearing tests

  • They don’t take up much space – we ask for a small room like a first aid room or meeting room. With a door for privacy and in a part of work where it is generally quiet.

  • They don’t take up much time – 20 minutes is all that’s needed for a full hearing test across the speech frequencies. We love that the test is carried out in full and in person and not much time is taken out of your day.

  • Thorough testing - we check the outer, middle and inner ears to ensure your staff are well looked after when it comes to their ear checks.

  • Immediate results – In person ear checks mean we can let you know straight away the health of your ears and then also the results of your hearing tests.

I’ve had many comments over the years of working as an Audiologist in the NHS/private/residential with individuals delaying hearing tests and waiting until there’s a problem.

“I wasn’t sure where to go and get my hearing checked.”

“I’m aware that my hearing is changing but I just haven’t had the time to sort myself out. I’ve been so busy looking after children and parents that the time hasn’t come. But I’m really aware that I can’t hear and I’m being told by my children that I keep saying ‘what?’ so the time has come that I really need to get my hearing checked.”

“I’m afraid you’re going to tell me something is wrong with my hearing and I’ll need to get hearing aids. I don’t want those right now so I’ve put off having my hearing checked.”

We love making the process so simple for both employers and employees. For 15 years I have now worked as an audiologist and it continues to surprise me how many individuals put off or avoid having their hearing checked. Ear checks and hearing tests are often only thought about once there is a problem. But why do we wait? Mostly through fear of finding out something is wrong or because we feel we can hear well enough so that will do for now. Many of us lead such busy lives with work, family, friends and hobbies that finding the time to help our health is difficult to fit in. With Workplace Ear Care we’re wanting to make that process simple and easy by coming to you and only taking a short amount of time out of your day with immediate results to help you with your hearing health.

With Workplace Ear Care we don’t sell hearing aids nor affiliated with anyone who provides hearing aids. This helps to reassure that we are not setting out to find any problems. Employees can have their hearing health checked knowing there is no pressure on needing to sort out hearing aids there and then. Depending on the results hearing aids may be mentioned but with my background as an Audiologist and being a hearing aid wearer I’ll be there to answer any questions you may have about them. The aim is to make having hearing tests the norm for all ages, to be proactive with our hearing health rather than waiting until there is a problem and give you knowledge and confidence so future you knows what to do when your hearing may start to change.

Hearing can affect anyone but not everyone will be affected by hearing changes. How will you know if you’re affected? By having regular hearing tests. This allows us to be proactive and find out any changes to our hearing sooner rather than later and not leaving any hearing loss untreated.

Nicola at Workplace Ear Care has run a residential ear wax removal business for over the past 4 years. With her ear wax removal business, Wessex Ear Care, she has achieved over 100 5 star reviews on Google. This is further reassurance that your employees will be well looked after.

We would love to help you and your employees by raising awareness of our hearing health. Get in contact with us to find out more.
